Terms & Conditions

The rules that keep Reusers useful and fair.

These terms govern access to the Reusers website, mobile app and marketplace services. Please read them before creating an account, listing an item or completing a transaction.

01

Agreement and eligibility

These terms are an agreement between you and Reusers.com Ltd (“Reusers”, “we” or “us”). By accessing or using Reusers, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the policies linked from them, including our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Reusers independently. A person under 18 may use the service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts responsibility for that use.

If you use Reusers for a business, such as a car dealership or a phone shop, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that business, and the business is bound by them too.

02

Accounts and access

  • Provide information that is accurate, current and yours to use, and keep it up to date.
  • Keep one personal account. A business may have its own account, run by people it has authorised.
  • Keep your password and verification codes confidential. Reusers staff will never ask for them.
  • You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you promptly report unauthorised access to support@reusers.com.
  • Do not impersonate another person or business, create accounts to evade restrictions or sell access to an account.
03

Identity verification

Some features, such as listing an item, may require you to verify your identity. Our provider, Dojah, checks your NIN or a government-issued ID and takes a live selfie to confirm that the ID is yours. Our Privacy Policy explains how this information is handled.

  • Use only your own identity documents and your own face. Using someone else’s, or a forged or altered document, will lead to suspension and may be reported to the authorities.
  • A Verified badge means the check passed when it was made. It is not a guarantee of a member, an item or a transaction.
  • We may ask you to verify again, or to show proof of ownership or authority to sell, before a listing goes live or while it stays live.
04

The Reusers marketplace

Reusers helps members discover items, publish listings, communicate and record activity involving sales, rentals and donations. Reusers is not the owner, seller, buyer, donor or renter of a member’s item unless a feature expressly states otherwise, and the agreement for each transaction is made directly between the members involved.

We do not inspect items and cannot guarantee that an item exists, matches its description or is lawful to sell, or that a member will complete a transaction. Members are responsible for checking the identity of their counterparty, the condition and legality of an item, and the terms of each transaction before proceeding.

05

Your listings

Listings must be truthful, current and supported by photos or information you are entitled to use. When you list an item, you confirm that:

  • you own it, or are authorised by its owner to offer it, and hold any licence the law requires to sell or rent it;
  • the title, category, condition, specifications, photos and location describe the actual item;
  • the price is the real asking price, not a placeholder, and your answer to “Is the price negotiable?” is honest;
  • you will answer members’ questions and requests within a reasonable time, and update or close the listing once the item is sold, rented, claimed or no longer available; and
  • you have checked any details filled in for you, including suggestions from Auto-fill with AI, because you remain responsible for everything your listing says.
06

Items and content that are not allowed

You must not list, offer or post:

  • stolen, counterfeit or replica goods, or copies presented as originals;
  • weapons, ammunition, explosives, or items made to look like weapons or to be converted into them;
  • illegal drugs, controlled substances, prescription-only medicines, or items used to take or conceal drugs;
  • hazardous, recalled or unsafe items, or items whose sale the law restricts when you do not hold the required licence;
  • government-issued documents, identity cards, registered SIM cards, bank cards or bank accounts, or other people’s personal information;
  • sexual content or services, or anything that exploits a minor;
  • wildlife, or products made from protected species;
  • money, investment, loan, crypto or “double your money” schemes;
  • listings that only promote a business, website or another marketplace without offering a specific item; or
  • content that is false, misleading, defamatory, hateful, harassing or violent, or that infringes someone else’s rights.

We may remove, hold or refuse any listing that breaches these terms or the law, without advance notice where that is needed to protect members.

07

Vehicles, boats and machinery

Because vehicles are high in value and risk, these extra rules apply to cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks, boats, jet skis, machinery and vehicle parts:

  • Sell or rent only a vehicle you own, or one you are authorised to offer as a dealer or agent.
  • Have the documents a buyer will need, such as proof of ownership, customs papers for an imported vehicle, and a current vehicle licence and roadworthiness certificate where they apply, and show them on request before payment.
  • Describe the mileage, chassis number (VIN), any accident, flood or major repair history and any known fault honestly. Do not alter an odometer or hide a fault.
  • Disclose any loan, lien or other claim on the vehicle. Never list a vehicle that is stolen, cloned or under investigation.
  • For rentals and hire, agree in the Reusers chat, before handover, who drives or operates it, the licence and insurance in place, fuel, the deposit, the hire period (per hour, day, week or month) and who pays for damage.
  • Buyers should inspect the vehicle and its papers, and take any test drive with the seller present, before paying.
08

Phones, gadgets and electronics

  • Do not list a device that is stolen, reported lost, blacklisted or IMEI-blocked.
  • Remove your iCloud, Google or other account locks and erase your personal data before handover. A device still locked to another account is not as described.
  • Say whether a device is new, foreign used, locally used, refurbished or repaired, mention any replaced parts (such as the screen or battery), and give the battery health where you know it.
  • Do not sell clones, copies or fake accessories as original branded products.
  • Buyers should test the device, and check that it is unlocked and not blacklisted, before paying.
09

Messages, offers and requests

  • Keep arrangements about an item in the Reusers chat, so there is a record if something goes wrong.
  • Use another member’s contact details only for the item you are discussing. Do not copy, collect or harvest members’ phone numbers, email addresses or other information, by hand or with software, or use them for marketing, spam, chain messages or investment schemes, on Reusers or anywhere else.
  • Do not send unsolicited adverts, or links that steer members to another marketplace, payment scheme or website.
  • A request, an offer or an accepted request is not a payment. Once a seller accepts a request, other members may see the item as Sold, Rented or Claimed. Honour the price and terms you agree, and tell the other member promptly if you cannot go ahead.
10

Meeting and paying safely

  • Meet in a safe, busy public place during daylight, and consider bringing someone with you.
  • Inspect the item before you pay. Do not pay in advance for an item you have not seen, and be wary of prices that look too good to be true.
  • Confirm payment in your own bank or payment app. Screenshots and SMS alerts can be faked.
  • Never share verification codes, passwords, card details or your BVN with another member.
  • Report suspicious behaviour in the app or to support@reusers.com.

You are responsible for your own safety and for the decisions you make when you meet or deal with another member.

11

Payments, fees and taxes

The price, delivery method, deposit, return terms and payment method for a transaction should be agreed before commitment. Where Reusers offers an in-app payment, wallet, protection or delivery feature, the conditions shown for that feature also apply.

Where members arrange payment or delivery themselves, Reusers does not control that payment or delivery. Any Reusers fee will be shown before it is charged and, unless the law or that feature’s conditions say otherwise, fees for a service already provided are not refundable.

Members who sell or rent out items are responsible for any tax due on that income.

12

Rentals, donations and historical swaps

  • Rentals: agree the rental period, deposit, permitted use, condition evidence, return process and who pays for damage or loss before handover.
  • Historical swaps: swap is no longer available on Reusers. For swaps agreed before its removal, both members remain responsible for accurately describing what they agreed to exchange and any agreed difference in value.
  • Donations: donated items must be lawful, safe and accurately described; a donation must not be used to conceal a prohibited sale.
13

Reviews

  • You can review a seller only after they have accepted your request, and only once.
  • Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience of that transaction.
  • Do not offer, accept or ask for money, discounts or favours in exchange for a review, or review yourself through another account.
  • We may remove a review that breaks these terms, contains personal information or abuse, or is not about the transaction.
14

Referrals and promotions

  • Refer & Earn follows the Refer & Earn terms. Other referral rewards, contests and promotions follow the conditions shown with them.
  • A referral counts only for a genuine new member who signs up with your code. Self-referrals, duplicate or fake accounts and other abuse cancel the reward and may lead to suspension.
  • We may change or end a programme at any time. Rewards already earned fairly will be honoured.
  • Where the law requires, we may deduct tax from a reward. You remain responsible for any other tax on it.
15

Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you create. By posting it to Reusers, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, display and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve and promote the service, including showing public listings in Reusers marketing and on social media. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except where continued storage is required for legal, safety, backup or dispute purposes.

Reusers branding, software and original platform content remain owned by Reusers or its licensors and may not be copied or exploited without permission.

If you believe a listing or other content on Reusers infringes your copyright, trade mark or other rights, email support@reusers.com with your name and contact details, the rights concerned, a link to each listing, and a statement that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner and that the information you give is accurate. We may remove the content and tell the member who posted it.

16

Moderation, reports and disputes

We may investigate reports, limit visibility, place a listing on hold, remove content, preserve relevant records or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users or comply with law. We may ask members for information and may notify an affected member of the reason for an action where appropriate.

Reports must be made in good faith. A false or malicious report is a breach of these terms.

Reusers may help members communicate about a dispute but does not guarantee a particular result. Legal rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.

17

Privacy and communications

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and used. You agree to receive service messages needed for account security, transactions, moderation and important product changes. Marketing messages can be managed through the options provided in the message or your available settings.

18

Suspension, deletion and termination

You may stop using Reusers and request account deletion. We may warn, limit, suspend or close an account, without notice where that is needed to protect members, for a serious or repeated breach, a safety risk, suspected fraud or scams, duplicate accounts, a legal requirement or misuse of the service. Certain records may be retained where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling or enforcement.

19

Service availability and liability

We work to keep Reusers available and accurate, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may be interrupted, changed or contain errors, and we may change or remove features.

To the extent permitted by law, Reusers is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss caused by another member, an item, a meeting between members, or a third-party service outside our reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims connected with Reusers is limited to the greater of the fees you paid Reusers in the six months before the claim arose and ₦50,000.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your rights under Nigerian consumer protection law.

20

Your responsibility to us

You agree to cover Reusers, its staff and partners for claims, losses and reasonable legal costs brought by anyone else that arise from your listings or content, your transactions with other members, or your breach of these terms or the law, except to the extent that Reusers caused them.

21

Disputes with Reusers and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If you have a complaint about Reusers, contact support@reusers.com first so we can try to resolve it. If it is not resolved within 30 days, either of us may refer it to arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, before a single arbitrator, seated in Lagos and conducted in English.

This does not stop either of us from asking a court for urgent relief, or you from contacting the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

22

General

  • These terms, with the policies linked from them, are the whole agreement between you and Reusers about the service.
  • If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over the service, without reducing your rights.
  • We are not responsible for failing to meet these terms because of events outside our reasonable control.
23

Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect product, legal or safety changes. Material updates will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel. Continued use after an update takes effect means the revised terms apply.
